Shake It to Overcome Overwhelm
Getting your move on has so many benefits for your mental and physical wellbeing. Improved body image & confidence, feel-good hormones are being released and stress hormones burned off, you're strengthening your bones and muscles, get your creative juices flowing, and so on. No brainer, right?
So how come so many of us struggle with moving regularly if we KNOW how good it is for us? It's usually a case of our busy lives and a lack of motivation getting in the way. But how do integrate movement into our lives EASILY, naturally, and sustainably?
Here a few things you can consider:
Think of "movement" rather than "exercise". How can you move you body little and often throughout the day? Silent disco in the kitchen, desk yoga, walking to the shop rather than driving?
Your internal reward system only kicks in once you start seeing & feeling the benefits of movement. How can you keep yourself going until then? Accountability buddy? Non-food-related rewards?
How can you make this suuuuuper easy? Design your environment in a way that makes movement a joyful, playful, and hurdle-free part of your day. And have a think about which time of the day works best for a little boogie?
